Dr. Zimmerman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in Spanish, from West Virginia University in 2015. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2021.

Residency & Specialized Training

Following graduation, Dr. Zimmerman completed a residency in Primary Care Optometry with an emphasis in Community Health and Ocular Disease through the New England College of Optometry in Dorchester, Massachusetts. During her residency, she gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, management of complex eye conditions, and the development of myopia management protocols for children and young adults.

Dr. Zimmerman enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from a child's first eye exam to managing complex ocular conditions in adults.

Expanding Her Expertise in California

Dr. Zimmerman subsequently practiced in California for three years, where she continued to build on the foundation from her residency, further developing her skills in myopia control, dry eye disease, contact lenses, and the medical management of ocular conditions.

Outside the Office

Outside the office, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys spending time with her family, her cat, and exploring the Washington, DC metropolitan area by bicycle.
